Gmail is a free e-mail service provided to millions of users by its parents company, Google. If you would like to to log in to Gmail, you need to create a Google Account to do Gmail Login. It was released in beta mode in 2004 and has become the preferred email service of 1.4 billion people. It offers its users more than 15 gigabytes of space, spam protection, filters, two-step security, priority inbox, attachment reminder, video chat, security using HTTPS, offline use, available in over 35 languages, works in most browsers and best of all, its 100% free. The most common problem Gmail users have is trouble doing Gmail Login or Gmail Sign In so I have written a a couple of tutorials that will show you step by step how to login to your Gmail account, How to create a Gmail account, How to Reset your password and many more.
How to: Gmail Login
- Type www.gmail.com into your browser’s address bar or click the link.
- Once you are in the Gmail website, you should see a login form similar to the one on the write hand side.
- There are two text-box fields asking you for your username and password. Enter your username or complete email such as firstname.lastname@example.org or just your username john5698. Then proceed to enter your password. Make sure your you notice if cap-locks is on and that the password you are entering, is the same password you used when you first created your Google account.
- If you are redirected to the Gmail interface, it means that the username and password you typed are correct. Enjoy!
However, If either the entered username and/or password is wrong, Then Gmail will let you know and let you try again. But after you have tried more than 3 times, they will require you to type some letters as a way of knowing you are not a bot/robot trying to hack someone’s account.

Gmail Password Tips:
- If you are having trouble remembering your password or Gmail keeps saying you are entering the wrong password, then proceed to open notepad and type your password so you can see it without the asterisks *** and make sure that is the same password you are typing into Gmail’s login form. If you are lucky, you might notice that the reason why Gmail keeps saying that you password incorrect is because its on cap-locks or missing a letter or a number. Just copy and paste the password you typed on your notepad into Gmail’s login form’s password text-box. When you gave itunes login problems you know what to do.
- If you are still unable to login to your email then please click Recover Gmail password to try to reset your password or recover it.
- The “stay signed in” is a check-box that should only be checked if you are using your home computer or your own personal computer in order to avoid unwanted individuals from accessing your Gmail account.
If you are looking for Gmail logout or www.Gmail.com sign out, click your account photo or email address in the top right corner on the Gmail inbox page and select Sign out. When you are using your Gmail account on public computers make sure that you sign out of all your Gmail email accounts as just closing the browser will not sign out of your Gmail account. If you had forgotten to sign out of another computer, you can sign out of all Gmail accounts by going to the bottom of your Gmail, clicking Details, then Sign out all other sessions. Gmail login Faster
There may be times when your Gmail inbox loads very slowly after you login to your account. One of the very possible reasons is your slow Internet connection. If you are experiencing slow Gmail inbox page opening issue, you need to first check that you do not have any issues with your ISP. Try to see if you can load other popular sites like Facebook, Twitter or Yahoo. If all the other websites are loading quickly, check to see if Gmail is down. You can check the status of Gmail from the Apps Status Dashboard at http://www.google.com/appsstatus. If nothing is working, try to close your browser and open them again to see if it solves your issue. If nothing is working out, you can disable Labs and Chat feature temporarily. If you are on a slow Internet connection you can make Gmail faster by turning off chat and displaying 25 messages. Also make sure that you are not using a Gmail Theme with heavy objects. Try using the Gmail default theme to load your Gmail inbox faster.
Gmail Chat or Google Chat is a very handy feature that allows you to talk in real time with your friends and family. If you are already using Gmail, all you need to do to chat is sign in to Gmail, invite your friends, and start a chat. You can chat with anyone who has a colored ball icon next to his or her name. When someone is online, a green, yellow, or red colored ball will appear. From Chat in Gmail find the name of the person you’d like to chat with. Click the person’s name to open a chat window and enter your message in the text field, and press Enter. From the Contact Manager in Gmail click Contacts along the left side of any Gmail page. Select the name of the person you’d like to chat with, and click the Chat link to open a chat window. Enter your message in the text field, and press Enter. When you finish chatting, click the ‘X’ in the top right corner to close the Gmail chat window. Gmail also supports group chat feature that lets you chat with many friends at once. Using Gmail to chat with your friends also enables chat history. Chat history allows you to store the text of your chats in your Gmail account so that you can easily search for them later. Click the Chats label in your Gmail account to access your chat history. You can adjust your chat history settings in Gmail. Sign in to Gmail and click the gear icon in the upper right, then select Settings. From the Chat tab either select “Don’t save chat history in my Gmail account” to disable chat history saving or select “Save chat history in my Gmail account” to enable chat history saving. Click Save Changes. To sign out of Gmail chat, click the arrow next to Set status here in the Chat widget present in the left side of your Gmail inbox page and Select Sign out of chat. You can also completely turn off chat in Gmail by clicking the gear icon and choose Settings. Click the Chat tab, choose “Chat off” and click Save changes.
SMS in Gmail Chat
Gmail chat allows you to easily send text messages (SMS) to and from cell phones. If Gmail Chat SMS feature isn’t already enabled on your account, you can enable it by clicking the gear icon in the upper right, then select Settings. Select the Labs tab and Scroll down until you see Text Messaging (SMS) in Chat, select Enable and Save Changes. To send SMS messages to your contacts mobile phones using Gmail Chat enter your contact’s name in the ‘Search, chat, or SMS’ box in Chat, and select Send SMS from the box of options that appears to the right of your contact’s name. Or, if you already have a Chat window open for this contact, just click More, and select Send Text (SMS). In the dialog box, enter a phone number in the ‘Send SMS messages to this number’ field and click Save. A Chat window appears. Just type your message as you would normally. When you hit Enter, the message will be sent to the phone number you entered. Initially every Gmail user is granted a credit of fifty messages. Every time you send a message, your credit decreases by one and every time you receive an SMS message in Chat your credit increases by five, up to a maximum of 50.

Gmail login Voice and Video Chat
If you are looking to voice and video chat with your friends and family, you need to download and install the voice and video chat plugin. If your contact has a camera icon next to their name in your Chat list, you can start a Gmail Voice Chat with them. To start Gmail voice and video chat, all you need to do is, select your contact from the chat list and in the Chat window that appears click the phone icon. If you are looking for a Hangout or 1:1 Gmail Video Chat, you can do that from the chat window. To access the complete features of Hangout, you need to have a Google+ account. If you don’t have a Google+ account you can start or join a limited hangout, which only includes the option to hang out with 1 other person. If you’d like access to all Hangouts features which includes the ability to hang out with up to 9 people, share your screen, and use cool Hangouts’ apps, you can upgrade to a free Google+ account at https://plus.google.com/ . Apart from all these, you can also call phones from Gmail. To get started with cheap international calls from Gmail, you must be signed in to chat and have the voice and video chat plug-in installed. Click the Call phone icon at the top of your Chat list to open up the Call window. From the Call window you can dial a phone number, view your call history or add credit. Google Voice has got very cheap international call rates with as low as 2¢ per minute.
If you prefer a downloadable chat app, you can download Google Talk Software to your computer for Gmail chat. Google Talk features include – Instant messages that allows you to share quick thoughts in real time; Status updates to see if friends are around and what they are up to; File transfer to instantly send and receive files and pictures; Free long distance to make PC-to-PC calls to people anywhere in the world; Audio conferencing to talk to multiple people at once; Gmail integration to chat with your friends on Gmail. Currently you can download GTalk only for Windows computers and there is no support for Mac or Linux computers.
Gmail desktop notifications let you know when you have a new email or Chat message. Currently Gmail desktop notifications feature is available for Google Chrome browser only. When you enable Gmail Desktop Notifications, you will see a pop-up when a new Gmail email message arrives. Chat notifications are also enabled by default, but you can disable them in your Gmail settings. To enable or disable email or Chat notifications Click the gear icon in the upper right and then select Settings. On the General tab, select the option you’d like in the Desktop Notifications section. You’ll be able to turn Chat notifications on or off, and can also choose to turn email notifications off, receive notifications for all incoming email, or only those Gmail marks ‘important’. Click Save.
Gmail has got a very good support for mobile devices. Users can download Gmail app for iOS and Android and enjoy most of the features supported by the Desktop version of Gmail. If you are an Android mobile or tablet user, you can access Gmail either using Gmail Android App or from the mobile browser or using an email client with IMAP. Gmail supports Android 4.0+ (Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean), Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and Android 2.2-2.3 (Froyo, Gingerbread).
Gmail iOS app works on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The newly redesigned iOS app brings the best of Gmail with real-time notifications, multiple account support and search across your entire inbox. With the Gmail app, you can Switch between up to 5 accounts, Get notified of new mail fast, with notification center, badge and lock screen options, Search through all your mail quickly – now with predictions as you type, See profile pictures as part of the conversation, Read your mail with threaded conversations, Auto-complete contact names as you type from your Google contacts or your phone, Respond to Google Calendar invites right from the app, Read and respond to interactive Google+ posts right from the app, Organize your mail by archiving, labeling, starring, deleting and reporting spam, Send and receive attachments and Customize emails with custom scribbles.
If you have a different mobile, you can access Gmail from the mobile browser. Gmail for mobile browsers allows you to perform common Gmail actions, such as archiving or viewing your labels. After a successful Gmail Mobile Login you can open attachments, including images, MS Word files, and PDF documents. Read and send emails in an interface that’s optimized for your mobile browser. Access and save drafts and automatically sync messages with the Gmail server. For Gmail Login from mobile web browsers, your mobile browser should be XHTML compliant. You can check if your browser is XHTML compliant by visiting http://www.google.com/xhtml and performing a search. Apart from this your browser should have cookies enabled and your network should also allow cookies. Your network should allow secure SSL traffic. Your mobile browser must have a URL length of 2000 bytes and must allow redirects of 10.
